In a sentence on a comment on my blog the romantic, smexy style author Shehanne Moore had written the words ‘Places they had been strangers in’. I really like that line. It tells a hundred stories. Kindly, she told me I could use it. That’s just what I did. If you don’t know her blog I recommend you check it out – it even has talking hamsters. Anyhow, here’s the beginnings of a lyric;
Places they had been strangers in
Places where they could start again
Thinking of the now and then
They close their eyes and count to ten
Yesterday, long after midnight
In a bedroom full of bright moonlight
He found he had no words to write
Found he’d lost his appetite
She’d left behind her coat and cat
Her front door key and old straw hat
How the hell she forgot that
No good ever comes of tit-for-tat
Tomorrow’s smiles a sure win-win
He plays his guitar to her mandolin
Yesterday’s slanging match no mortal sin
Just places they had been strangers in

Here’s my song ‘Solely About You’. I hope you enjoy;

What a wonderful way to begin my day… and that location looks familiar!

It’s Canterbury, the river is on the edge of The Marlow Theatre – maybe I should have said that the other way around ~ George

That was a great line. 8 syllables as well. Perfect for song writing/adapting to song. Thanks ~ George

Know what? Re the 8 syllables, despite playing a lot of musical stuff I never thought of that. Thank you xx

This is great, I’ve never been to Canterbury but I am a big fan of Christopher Marlowe.

Thanks, Resa. I’m glad you like it. The pics are of the walled city of Canterbury about 1/2 an hour from where I live. It’s a neat old city. Thanks again ~ George

I really like the lyrics and the place you have photographed looks great. I just saw it was Canterbury. Never been there and seems like I should visit now that I live in London
