The other day, even though it was silly hot I got up high to the part of the Western Heights where very few people go. This section of the Heights doesn’t overlook the sea, it’s the backside of The White Cliffs and a safe home for the wild things. There’s no call for masks up there. While there I got a few words together. I hadn’t expected that.
You climbed into the mirror not the big picture
Trapped behind the looking glass you never got free
Dreams of tomorrow and yesterday’s sorrow
You could look but never could see
In the storybook you lent me
Your autobiography with self-hate hate in mind
You told white lies to hide from the real stuff
You got best reviews from the deaf and the blind
Hidden behind the reflector’s reflections
I guess as safe as anywhere this side of Mars
It’s a pity you’re not here with eyes wide open
Sat on the cliff edge looking up at the stars
Time for a song. It’s called ‘Silent Films’ from my Rainbow’s End album. Ihope you enjoy;

Hey George – these photos are awesome and so therapeutic to look at. Also the words you’ve put together here as a song are profoundly deep and poignant for times like these! On another note – you got to be buzzing about our 14th FA Cup which was won on my birthday 🎂 (1st August 2020)! 😊🙏💛👊🎉

Thanks for that. You must have had the best birthday ever. Over just a few weeks we beat City, Liverpool then the big one, plus the fact the Spurs now have to play the qualifiers. We now need a few players. Not that many because we’ve got some great young players ready to go. I think we’ve got the right man in charge at last. Do you ever listen to the Tuesday Club – Alan Davies Podcast? It should come up on Spotify any time now. Thanks again ~ George

So true George – After a has built up some great momentum heading into the new season! I had a great birthday dude! I’ve never heard of that podcast but will check it out – thank you! If we keep Auba then we will have a good season! Keep up the good work dude! 😊🙏💛👊🎉

You a Red Member?

I was until last year. Living in Dover miles away and a team not doing well at the time made me stop. I’ll have to rethink this ~ George

Hahaha. George – I was a Red Member until last season too. I was unhappy with the club so did not renew my membership last season! I did say that if we win the FA Cup and kept hold of Auba that I’ll have a rethink! We have the FA Cup now I’m waiting on Auba’s decision!!!

Thanks. I think the place with the sign is empty now. It was a WW2 defence place, then a place the refuges coming over from Calais got sent to – all wrong I think, Banging them up there when all they wanted was somewhere to live. Thanks again ~ George
